Bringing ABA into Your Inclusive Classroom

My first book, Bringing ABA into Your Inclusive Classroom: A Guide to Improving Outcomes for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, was published in May 2010 (http://www.brookespublishing.com/store/books/leach-70779/index.htm). The purpose of this book is to provide educators with a framework for designing and implementing ABA interventions in inclusive classrooms using a team approach. The book includes many different assessment tools, suggestions for using the assessment information to select meaningful ABA goals, and a description of a multitude of behavioral teaching strategies that can be used to develop ABA interventions to address the selected goals. Also included are a variety of user-friendly data collection forms for monitoring progress that general education teachers can easily use on an ongoing basis. Finally, the book provides many samples of ABA lesson plans that teachers can use and/or adapt for their individual students. Once readers take a look at the sample plans, they will see that they can create their own using the template provided to ensure individualized and appropriate interventions for their students. I do provide half-day, 1 day, 2 day, and week long workshops on the topic of this book. Contact me at leachd33@gmail.com for more information.

  1. This is an awesome book. During my internship I referred to it many times to ensure I was appropriately observing and assessing behaviors. This book gave me good insight to come up with the best strategies for improving behaviors. I'm still waiting on Dr. Leach to autograph my book! :-)
